Tell us about being nominated for the New England Music Awards two years in a row; it's got to be an amazing honor for you to accomplish this feat at such a young age.

It really was, as the awards were for 18+, so I was the youngest ever, at that time to be nominated.   I was honored to be part of top 5 Pop Acts in all of New England, the only solo artist in both nominations.  There is a lot of talent here in New England.

At what age did you start creating music and when did know in your heart that you had what it takes to be a successful artist?

I wrote my first single "Fighting Dragons" when I was 13 years old. I honestly just asked my parents to let me start performing, I started writing, its something I really love to do. As my journey progressed,  I started thinking that it could be more of a career rather than just a hobby. Success can be measured in many ways, and my hope is to connect people with my music and messages inspiring and evoking emotion and change.

Tell us about the tour that you are participating in now. Who are you performing with and what cities will your fans be able to see you perform?

I just opened the Kiss 108 Concert at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA. with Halsey, Iggy Azalea, Troye Sivan, Melanie Martinez, The Chainsmokers, Nelly, BeBe Rexha and more.  Some upcoming dates include a show with Andy Grammer and Train and Connecticon in Hartford Ct. So far, I am scheduled to tour the East Coast. My tour dates can be found at emmarieofficial.com.

What does the song/video "Never Grow Up" mean to you? What message are you conveying?

Do you remember your first kiss?  Most people do. There is something about that first time feeling that gets lost in the clutter of adulthood.  Everything seemed so magical, like when you open up a fresh box of crayons, or when you went to your first concert. I want to inspire people to take the time and feel that first time feeling again.

What do you enjoy most about being a singer-songwriter?

I love meeting people after shows. Hearing stories that they thought of during one of my songs.  Being able to get someone to rock out with me, jump for joy, or to remind them of a special moment in their life, happy or sad.  Its the power of the lyric and the music.
