In a surprising but on-brand boss babe move, Megan Thee Stallion just signed to Roc Nation. The Houston born rapper will still release music through 1501 Certified/300 Entertainment record label, and we love that she’s still staying loyal to the family that supported her up to this breakthrough moment.
The announcement came on Instagram, setting social media on fire as Megan posted a powerful selfie with her besides Jay Z, captioned “I would like to announce that I am officially apart of the @rocnation fam!!! The grind don’t stop ! #realhotgirlshit.””
Meg revealed that one of the major forces behind her decision came when she lost her mother to a brain tumor earlier this year. Music isn’t just Meg’s dream - it was her mom’s dream for her as well.
We think that this is an amazing opportunity for Hot Girl Meg and know she’s going to make her mom proud. The 23 year old took the entire hip-hop industry by storm with her natural curves, authentic personality, cutting lyrics.
After releasing her last project “fever” in May, this artist filled with swagger is inspirational for dark skinned girls, and a body positive icon who fully empowers women with her insta-twerk anthems.
We love the fact that Meg always posts shots of her doing homework on tour, showing that you can be a baddie and also get a degree - in fact, it makes you even more fly.
We want to celebrate what has been the best addition to Roc Nation this year and can’t wait to see what projects she comes out with next.
