Pro Era's Kirk Knight Drops His New Track "Downtime"

Kirk Knight is sharing a new single "Downtime" via Pro Era Records/RED MUSIC. The new song follows his previously released single "Run It Back (freestyle)" as the latest offering from his upcoming album IIWII (It Is What It Is), and sees the prodigious New York producer, songwriter and rapper stepping out from behind the boards and showcasing all of his abilities by crafting songs for himself. The single sees Kirk moving effortlessly between singing and rapping as he reflects on his life before all his success.

In addition to the new track, Kirk is announcing that his new album IIWII (It Is What It Is), will arrive November 16th via Pro Era Records/RED Music. He is also sharing the cover art and track listing for the album, which is available for pre-order now. IIWII follows his critically-acclaimed joint-EP with fellow Pro Era member Nyck Caution, Nyck @ Knight that was released last year, as well as production for A$AP Ferg on his now double-platinum hit "Plain Jane." Apart from music, Kirk is also establishing himself as a talented young actor, appearing in Patti Cake$, a film about a white woman from New Jersey with rap aspirations that became a Sundance festival darling and earned rave reviews.

First breaking into mainstream consciousness as a member of Pro Era, Kirk became one of the backbones of the collective's sound, crafting tracks for rappers within the Pro Era circle and beyond. Meanwhile, Kirk was steadily honing his craft, putting out his solo debut Late Knight Special in 2015, just before his 20th birthday. Now 22, Kirk has refined his music and burrowed down to its very core to build a lush, new sound that's solely his. With IIWII, Kirk is displaying a newfound perspective, cutting through right to the essence of himself as an artist while fluently navigating the trends that are gripping both the charts and the streets right now.
