In 2010, RUN DMT is conceived as a musical project due to music being created and signed without a proper name. The RUN DMT shirt came first, so the efforts were consolidated. The first tracks were signed to P5, curated by Philly drum and bass honchos D-Star and Mason.
In 2011, RUN DMT's first official release, "Drop Top" hit the top of the Beatport charts and remained in the Top 10 for six weeks. "Drop Top" was followed by a series of chart-topping EPs and a high profile inclusion on the Mortal Kombat video game soundtrack with "Baraka's Theme". RUN DMT capped off the year with a Mad Decent-released mixtape "Year of White Rabbit".
2011 also saw the CD release of the dubstep remix of "A Candlelit Dinner with Innamorta" by Asking Alexandria available exclusively at Hot Topic.
In June 2012, RUN DMT released his debut full length album "Union of Opposites", featuring Chali 2na, Dj Swamp, and Zeale, which hit #2 Dubstep and #11 Variety Charts on Beatport. RUN DMT closed out 2012 with a brand new 58-track, 140 minute mixtape, "The Existential Mix".
In 2013 Run DMT's official remix of Major Lazer's "Jah No Partial" was released thru Mad Decent/Downtown. 2013 also saw the release of his remix for Dimitri Vegas/Like Mike/Lil Jon's "Madness" on Dim Mak Records. A new Self-Titled 8-Track EP dropped in July 2013 to press acclaim from Vice, Rolling Stone, Magnetic Magazine, Thissongissick, and many other crucial tastemakers.
Run DMT started off 2014 with a bang, releasing a highly successful official remix of Diplo's "Revolution", which snagged a high profile placement in the commercial for video game Titanfall.
RUN DMT's "Who Are You" remix landed a weekly spot on ESPN Football. RUN DMT closed out the year with his official remix of Bassnectar's "Now" which landed high critical acclaim.
In 2015, RUN DMT announced his new artist collective, Kill Your Ego, a music network curated by artists. KYE develops up and coming artists, producers, musicians, and visual artists. RUN DMT organized and executed a 38 date tour in 2015 to promote the brand. He also produces and hosts the acclaimed "Kill Your Ego" Podcast featuring DJ sets from some of electronic music's biggest names.
In 2016, RUN DMT has taken time off to finish albums for his psychedelic side project PPLRPSN, who's album 'Wrinkle" releases on Gravitas Recordings in the Winter. The project is also being followed up by a live performance and a webseries. Additionally, John created a second side project to fuel his passion for liquid drum and bass called Sobo. The tracks he made were immediately signed to Bachelors of Science's CODE Recordings and set for release this winter as well.
After a 3 year production Hiatus to focus on side projects (PPLPRSN, Sobo) and his Kill Your Ego Network, John has returned to the studio in 2016 to create his third original release. Tracks have been briefly sneak peaked, but little has been offered in the way on information about the release. In 2017, we begin to roll out "Revolutaionaire", the long awaited album featuring collaborations with Barrington Levy, Dirt Monkey, Subtronics, Jacq, Zeale, and many more. The album is a project in organizing our frustration into something positive. The first single to premiere was LDA with Subtronics at the beginning of May 2017, followed by Part I of the release of the full length album which dropped on August 14th.
