SX is thrilled to share the music video for “Shimona” from their recently released album Alphabet. Partially recorded at Botopasi, a small village located at the Suriname River in the Amazon Forest, the “Shimona” video clip is a gorgeous, artistic expression filled with majestic, natural beauty and a twisted, modern edge. Created and directed by Benjamin Desmet, “Shimona” is all about the raw emotion of missing someone or something you really cherish. SX is the Belgian experimental pop duo formed by Stefanie Callebaut and Benjamin Desmet. SX’s sophomore album Alphabet takes you into a exotic reality with Stefanie's raw, vigorous voice matched with Benjamin's primal percussion and futuristic digital elements. Alphabet results in a pure, authentic sound and a class performance that never fails to amaze.
SX was slated to perform at this year’s SXSW until their ESTA was unexpectedly revoked 24 hours before their flight to the US. You can view SX's official statement here: http://bit.ly/2nEGKry
SX burst onto the scene in 2011 with their exotic track, "Black Video." The single kick-started an international tour, and they opened for bands like Yeasayer, Vampire Weekend, Ariel Pink, and Polica. Their debut album Arche came out in 2012, and included hits "Gold," "Graffiti," and the captivating "The Future." Arche earned gold record status in Belgium.
Stefanie and Benjamin have also worked on exciting collaborations in other fields, such as their partnership with top designer Dries Van Noten for his winter collection 2015-2016 and an eyewear collection for Hoet: Cabrio SX.
Additionally, SX makes all of their music videos and artwork themselves through Benjamin's talents in film, editing, and 3D/visual arts. They also created the artistic platform "Community X" together with Harvey Bouterse for all of their creative outputs.
