The New Year EP was released on January 1st, marking Palestinian-American Rapper Jirias’ first official collection of songs. Jirias is managed by New York City entrepreneur Michael Consoli, who is helping take the Jirias brand to new heights.
Jirias, real name George Fakes, is twenty two years old and based out of New Jersey. Jirias is dedicated to bringing new, never before seen perspective to a stagnant industry, as well as provide a voice for underprivileged Arab-Americans facing discrimination and unfair labeling. Production on the New Year EP was handled by production wunderkind RKG, who offers a classic lo-fi sound to pair with the Jirias’ dense wordplay and charismatic flow. Composed of an assortment of different beats and sounds (such as the fiery “Black Beatle” or the introspective “Lost”), the New Year EP serves to be Jirias’ fervent first steps into an unexpecting industry.
