Long Island artist Kali Mac is back & better with a music video for his song "Never Gon' Lie," the first single off his upcoming mixtape Grown Ass Ki. After his last single “Thankful” hit 100k plays on SoundCloud (and still counting!), there was a brief hiatus in Mac music, but consider the release of this music video the return of the Mac.

Since "Thankful," Kali has spent the last year and a half working on this new 15-track project titled Grown Ass Kid. The first single “Never Gon’ Lie” was written and recorded about a year ago, while he was struggling financially and working pizza delivery jobs to pay for studio time. As an act of desperate determination, he even stole money from delivery orders until he was eventually caught and fired, but he continued to find other work to fund his recording
sessions and bring this project to life.

The music video was shot more recently, in February, at Five Towns College. Kali insisted on staying in Long Island to shoot the music video, because he believes Long Island doesn’t get the recognition it deserves, and he plans to change that by making Long Island a consistent part of his work. Make sure you check out his new music video and be sure to look out for the release of Grown Ass Ki on June 16t! To celebrate the release of his mixtape, he will be headling a show on June 24t at Amityville Music Hal in Amityville, N.
