OKBADLANDS Get Rave Reviews For New Single "PTY LTD", And Announce Debut EP For March 31st

Brisbane duo OKBADLANDS give you another taste of their captivating and unique electro-pop with new track “PTY LTD”, a track which has already racked up a handful of five star reviews on Triple J Unearthed, plays on Home and Hosed and 2017 with Kingsmill, and has now been added to Triple J Spot rotation. The duo are also excited to announce their debut EP, featuring last year’s single “Dust & Gold” and new track “PTY LTD”, which will be released digitally on Friday March 31st.

OKBADLANDS formed in 2015 after best pals Kate Gurren and Sally Latter decided to start recording their very-unofficial and very-casual jam sessions. Originally just for the hangs, the sessions quickly became a vital means of expression and creativity. Kate (a jazz student) and Sally (a bass player) used this time to experiment with various instruments and textures, and OKBADLANDS was born.

With previous tracks ‘Good Logic’ being described as “mirrorlike, like a still lake in the setting sun, golden and calm” (The Autumn Roses), and “Drifting, beautiful, delicate” (Nat Tencic, Triple J Unearthed), and last year’s smash single “Dust & Gold” praised as “Soulful and smooth in the best of ways” (Zan Rowe, Triple J), and “stunning and soul-drenched vocals with production that hums” (The AU review), OKBADLANDS have once again weaved soulful vocal harmonies with delicate and unhurried beats, leaving you dazzled and wanting more.

Self-produced, recorded, and arranged - with a little help from Max Byrne (Golden Vessel) in the beats chair - new single “PTY LTD” is about solidarity. Showcasing smooth wispy vocals reminiscent of drinking a cool whiskey in a warm jazz club, layered over a simple and uplifting beat, “PTY LTD” channels their unique ability to create beauty and emotion in the simple and delicate.

“PTY LTD” is the second single of OKBADLANDS’ upcoming EP (to be released March 31st), also produced by Max Byrne (Golden Vessel).

OKBADLANDS will be supporting Bec Sandridge at The Foundry (Brisbane) on March 10th, and announcing an EP tour in the coming months.
