The Company Stores Share New Album "Little Lights"

Appalachian "Hill Hop" band The Company Stores released their sophomore full-length album Little Lights on April 7th, 2017.  Mother Church Pew wrote, "Little Lights features the sultry sassitude of frontwoman Casey Litz against a fiery backdrop of musicality that begs for a festival-sized stage and a whole lot of sunshine. It’s punchy, it’s poignant, and it’s perfect."

Hailing from Charleston, WV, The Company Stores take inspiration from their Appalachian roots, blending traditional folk styles with a more progressive, modern rock sound.  This innovative spirit can be felt in the most recent single releases, "So Good", and "Love Me Again."  Their second full-length takes on more personal themes and messages.  The title track was written by guitarist Matthew Marks after his best friend's death, early last year.  The band addresses these issues of love and loss throughout the album, coming to an overall conclusion that we should never allow our lights to be diminished.  Little Lights is an album that takes the listener on a contemplative, modern American journey.

The Company Stores are definitely for fans of Grace Potter, The Wood Brothers, and Lake Street Dive.  They are currently in the middle of a mini-tour through the Southeast, that includes a performance at NPR's Mountain Stage.  Recorded in front of a live audience, Mountain Stage features performances from seasoned legends and emerging stars in genres ranging from folk, blues, and country; to indie rock, world music, alternative, and beyond.
