Nordic Glamzon: Actress Rebekka Mueller on Comic Books and Prison Cells

Los Angeles, June 21st 2016. “It’s an honor to be part of the TV-series “Black Tiger”. Rebekka Mueller belongs to the top five up-and-coming German actors mainly working in international productions.

She will be playing the successful business woman, human rights activist and upcoming mayoral candidate Mareike Hofmeister in the main cast of the upcoming martial arts action series. More already confirmed cast members so far will be Robin Shou (Mortal Kombat), Angela Fong (former WWE Diva), Rico E. Anderson (Star Trek: Renegades) and Rap legend Kurtis Blow. “I’m fascinated by the story of Black Tiger as the comic deals with different nationalities and ethnic groups. I think today it is more important than ever to make clear that we are one people that shall all be created equal no matter what skin color or religion we may have”. 

Connecting producers

Beyond Time Inc ( presented the short film “Black Tiger: Hunter Hunted” that is based on the corresponding comic books. The film was screened on numerous film festivals and won the "Spirit of Comic Con Award" (Wizard World Atlanta). Rebekka Mueller met the creators John and Priscilla Hervey on a last year’s Comic Con near Los Angeles for an early addition.  “I was so fascinated by the story of ‘Black Tiger’ that I also wanted to be a part of the creation as junior co-producer and agent to connect with the German film and TV market and add an international flair to the show”.

A cinematographic chamber play on love and loss

Black Tiger Comics 3:  Beyond Time Comics

Currently she is preparing her first cinematographic chamber play as junior producer and actress in co-operation with film and economy companies from Cologne, Germany. “Lieben und Leben lassen” (“Love and let live”) deals with the strong emotions between two women sharing a cell in a women’s prison.  The filming is scheduled for July. Rebekka Mueller founded her own production company Salem W. Productions.

360° degree films as a new marketing trend

I love trying new things even if it seems complicated at first”, says Rebekka Mueller. “The new 360° degree trend offers new opportunities for film makers”.  Together with a company from Westwood, Los Angeles she is developing a new kind of web series as marketing tool for a renowned camera manufacturer with the target group of cell phone users between 17-25 years.

The German actress with Scandinavian roots Rebekka Mueller works internationally. She is starring in two movies currently “Reeperbahn“ (distributor Edel, available in stores and online on DVD and Blu-ray) and in “Death Wish Zero“. She received her first international “Best Actress“ award at the LAIFF awards in Los Angeles for “You are Back“ (director Igor Possewnin - Military advisory for Steven Spielberg’s “Bridge of Spies”) . The film “Never Forget“ with her as mother received the “Best Film“ award and 2.000 Euro at the Spitziale Film Festival 2015 in Espelkamp, Germany. Her portrayal as women in a bar alongside Christian Harting who was playing a supporting role in the Academy Award winning movie “Son of Saul” ( made it into the top 18 from over 4.000 submitted films in the famous 99 Fire Films Award competition during Berlinale 2015. She is signed with the Jerry Pace Agency, Burbank, CA. 

Rebekka Mueller plans to relocate to Los Angeles this summer. In 2016, she founded her own production company Salem W. Productions in Berlin, Germany and has been a freelancer at Redline Productions in Berlin. For Beyond Time’s ”Black Tiger”, she is in charge of initiating and supervising international co-operations.
