The Foot Locker X Pensole “Fueling the Future of Footwear” program is now open for submissions for its summer program. The program will be hands on, three week long course designed to teach students about design, color & material, and brand marketing from the teachers at Pensole Footwear Design Academy.
18 students will be chosen for the program, which will last three weeks. Those who are chosen will receive free tuition and shared housing in Portland, OR and placed in 6 teams of three. During the course, which will be briefed by Foot Locker and Asics, the six teams will create a product based on specific briefs.
At the end of the course, a design will be chosen by a panel of judges, with the winner being released at select Foot Locker stores. The winning team will also receive a $15,000 award. The winning design of the 2016 “Fueling the Future of Footwear” Master Class was the popular Asics “Fresh Up” GEL - 180, which saw a worldwide release on February 24, 2018 at limited Foot Locker stores.
The deadline to sign up for your chance to be a part of this opportunity is June 17, with the final selection taking place on June 29. After the students have been selected, class officially begins on July 30, and ends August 17.
