In this new take on the More Uptempo, the silhouette remains classic in terms of leather, the mesh tongue, and perforation - the tri-color scheme just gets mixed up this time around. This time, a rainbow of grey, black and white with AIR spelled out on the side definitely makes a statement. It’s bold but not colorful, giving it a striking look that’s almost akin to a sneakerboot.
Black covers the A and the tongue, which is style adorned with the classic swoosh (the swoosh also adorns different parts of the shoe all over), while the I and grey makes a clear band across the middle, finally ending in a white toe, where the R resides. This is the first time that the brand has applied the “Tri-Color” look to the Air More Uptempo model, and it could slay on the right wearer.
We’re not sure how we feel about the white being at the toe part/part that is primarily and most often splashed by slush and dirt, taking away that brand new look by day 2 without careful maintenance. Couldn’t they have put one of the two darker, naturally slushy colors to cover that part? The midsole matches the tri-blend upper.
Mens and kids sizes drop on August 12th, retailing for $160 USD. Some are saying that the color story is more appropriate for kids than adults. And we do have that one qualm about the front color being white when a more opportune shade could have been chosen. Do you agree with the haters, or will you cop a pair when mid-August hits?
