When the leader in basketball shoes links up with one of the most dominant soccer clubs, magic is bound to happen! And this is exactly what happened when Jordan decided to pay homage to Paris St. Germain’s fifth Ligue 1 title win with their latest release of the Air Jordan 5.
The reveal of this exclusive pair of sneakers comes almost immediately after Paris St. Germain’s victory in the Coupe de France, paying homage to the Parisian champions. This is not the only involvement that Nike has had with Paris St. Germain, as Nike has been a longtime sponsor for the soccer club. An Instagram post by Pinoe77 showed a sneak peek of what the sneaker will look like. The new colorway will feature a black suede upper with translucent blue, white and grey detailing along the black and white midsole. The sneaker will also sport a unique Jumpman club crest on the heel, as well an embroidered “75” instead of the “23” that fans of the shoe are familiar with.
While no details regarding an official release date or price, or whether the sneakers will be released publicly or be exclusive to members of the soccer club, have surfaced quite yet, a summer 2018 release is anticipated. It is also anticipated that the shoes will be released alongside Jordan Brand’s upcoming “International Pack” which has been scheduled for July 7, 2018, so that gives us a rough idea of when to expect the potential official release.
If you’re a sneakerhead looking to potentially grab the exclusive kicks for yourself, then you should definitely be on the lookout for official information about the release, because Dopecausewesaid certainly will!
