The Carefree Black Girl Cookout Hits Brooklyn

The Carefree Black girl cookout will be held in Brooklyn, NY on Saturday, June 10th at Prospect Park beginning at 2 pm. Spearheaded by Savannah born and NY-embedd Quanna, the cookout began as a way for women of color to come together and fellowship in a safe space.

Stemming from the hashtag #carefreeblackgirl, the movement was created to build a stronger line of communication amongst like minds. In a world against minority women, the #carefreeblackgirl cookout seeks outs solutions for the issues faced by women of color.

The #carefreeblackgirl cookout is sponsored by Curls, Broke2dope, Creative Era, Indie Creative Network, Sammi's Goodies, and Izzy the Goddess. The cookout will include a braid bar, eyelash bar, and sensual meditation. The #carefreeblackgirl cookout has already visited Brooklyn, Savannah, and Atlanta with dates to visit Philadelphia and Charlotte to be announced.
